A race in stages (3) and that must be done in pairs. It is very interesting to photograph a race with these characteristics, the total ignorance of the runners that you’re photographing, but knowing them day by day… knowing their stories, knowing where they come from and what has driven them to get here, to face this challenge accompanied by the brother, the father, the couple or a friend.
From the same organization of the race, explained us the first day that they had not created the race with the spirit of competition that always predominates in the rest. Here the most important thing is that everything go well, that people enjoy the landscapes and because of sharing beers every evening with the rest of the teams, generate a family atmosphere and unique among all.
TO SEE in the last stage, the first runners of the “experience” modality (3 stages of approximately 30kms each day) wait under the shadow of a tree for 35 minutes for the first runners of the “epic” modality (3 stages of approximately 50kms each day) in order to arrive to the finish line together, IT IS ADMIRABLE.
TO KNOW the story of a 50 years old couple, who come to run the 90kms of the “experience” modality to celebrate that 5 years ago she overcame breast cancer. Then arriving the last ones every day but with the rest of the runners, already showered, receiving them with strongest ovations, IS EXCITING.
TO LIVE a declaration of love and petition for marriage, just a couple of meters from the end of the 3rd and final stage. IT’S MAGIC.
